A revitalized Daniil Medvedev won his maiden trophy for 882 days with success over opponent Moutet in the tournament final.

Medvedev, a ex- top-ranked player, has endured a difficult year, achieving just one win at the Grand Slams and undergoing a setback at the New York tournament.

His inconsistency on the professional circuit - and struggles with his service game in specific - led to him dropping out of the elite rankings and ultimately splitting with long-term mentor his previous coach.

Currently working with Johansson and his other coach, he has steadily improved in the recent weeks - peaking in a hard-fought three-set triumph over challenger Corentin Moutet.

It is his first championship after the 2023 Rome Masters and first on a hard court since that period of that year.

The win also signifies the Russian has secured twenty-one titles at twenty-one various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a event with my both daughters simultaneously, so to get a championship is especially meaningful," stated world number 14 the champion.

"This championship is in dedication of my child her name, because the first title I won when my first daughter Alisa was born was for her."

Medvedev, the past champion, had been defeated in his previous six title deciders, comprising in Halle in the past months.

The player's retrieving play style and frequent reactions on the tennis court had led some to question if his ability to compete at the highest level was concluded.

However the player has made changes in the past month, making an effort to approach the net and compete aggressively, supported by an enhanced serve.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Frenchman, winning 4 of the final five games to gain the advantage.

Both players swapped break points in the second set before the Frenchman, striving for his maiden tour victory, seized the initiative to push for a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 early break points in a tight deciding set before Medvedev won the break to fifteen to serve for the match.

Suitably, Medvedev secured the win with a rally at the front of the court, with the Frenchman failing to control a volley after two hours and 38 minutes.
